Our Artisans & Craftsmen

Daroonjinish is an absorbing platform that aims to shine a light on the outstanding skills of artisans from West Bengal, India. Our goal is not only to display their individual creations but also to assist in the development of their craft through several activities. These range from providing workshops and training sessions, to creating value for their art and craftwork. We strive to empower these talented people and establish sustainable livelihoods.

At Daroonjinish, we are proud of our role in promoting the rich cultural heritage of India which includes arts, crafts and handlooms. We work as business development partners for these artists who help them in developing their entrepreneurship so that their products could reach global markets.

Our artisans come from different regions of West Bengal such as Sabang, Pingla, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Narayangarh, Ramnagar, Dinajpur, Birbhum, Cooch Behar and Shantiniketan.

One among our many unique products marries together the fine artistry of Kashmiri artisans with the lively colours of Jaipur Blue Pottery and the eco-friendly craftsmanship of Sabai grass weavers from Bengal. By combining these traditional crafts we are able to produce beautiful works that not only express the richness of Indian craftsmanship but also foster the intercultural ties and collaborations.

The Kashmiri artisans introduce paper mache, a craft with hundreds of years old tradition, known for its intricate patterns and vivid colors. At the same time, the artisans of Jaipur blue pottery showcase their skills in producing exquisite handcrafted pottery adorned with elaborate floral designs. Additionally, the Sabai grass weavers from Bengal incorporate their eco-friendly approach by crafting sustainable mats that not only display beauty but also support environmental sustainability.

Sabai grass mats, in particular, offer a multitude of benefits. Not only are they eco-friendly and chemical-free, but they also provide livelihood opportunities for rural communities. By selecting Sabai products, consumers contribute to preserving traditional craftsmanship while advocating for a plastic-free and sustainable lifestyle.

With Daroonjinish, we welcome you to explore the diverse and vibrant world of Indian craftsmanship, where tradition meets innovation and creativity knows no bounds.
